The Magoi and the Magi in the Book of Daniel

The Magi are in the court of the king magicians, or sometimes understood as wise men. It is funny because you mentioned the Persians. There's a debate about whether they were from Persia or for Babylon. Now we've got Gentiles coming and I can't help but mention a good friend of mine who runs a tour company called Guiding Star. He was one of the first Christian Palestinian to start a tour company over 50 years ago.
