Are You Just Trying to Understand How Human Cooperation Works in the Past?

I was just wondering if by studying these societies like the Hadza and society's intensity you are really trying to get at good models of what might have been our the kinds of societies we evolved in. I think early on in my research I did think of it as the latter that is I'm studying hunter-gatherers and this will give us insight to how humans cooperated in the past. But more recently I have been thinking more about my work in terms of understanding in this particular context in these situations.
