The Unstable Third System of the Milky Way
There aren't many black holes in the billion stellar mass range. Triangulum doesn't have one, which is back to that. And so you can imagine two dwarf galaxies merging together. Their supermassive black holes haven't merged yet. That combination reaches the center of the Milky Way in Andromeda and then it can get flung.
