So I think there's two things going on there I think one would be again a callback to race where hair and like the descriptions of the kinds of hair that come up in Lovecraft stories are particularly racist. The point is supposed to be that it is infusing everybody with its energy which is causing cancer like effects like losing hair again also why the mastectomy thing is a tie-in right yeahYeah okay that makes sense so the idea would be this is an organism that is energetic in nature and it's producing emitting radiation as it is feeding off of the land and the people
