The risk to the mom include development of preeclampsia, increased risk of c-section because of fetal indications we'll talk about next. But really for the fetus they're at risk for neonatal hypoglycemia right because the mom's glucose trans is a classical center to the fetus. The fetus makes increased insulin and then once that maternal glucose is gone the fetus has all this insulin and no glucose. So they're atrisk of neon hypoglyCEmia.
