The Importance of Multi-Disciplinary Thinking in Technology
I think that regulation has to be part of it. Just like, you know, I mean, we were talking earlier about homeostasis and an organism. We need feedback mechanisms such that we maintain stable conditions for the society. If we fail to put in regulatory feedback loops, it could behave like an atomic bomb. And so one of my missions is to get much more multi-disciplinarity in our thinking. So rather than just sort of introduce a naive ethics component in courses, I think we should have all of our engineers study history, study sociology, study economics,. Like this, we need more kind of renaissance people who can integrate that kind of thinking.
