Coaching techniques are very direct and targeted and action oriented so less about talking about feelings or delving deeply into the past but finding real world solutions to problems that you can start using today. It really helped me take the warm fuzziness of counseling and the system theory that I learned in my master's program and blending it with, not hard, but fact-based to let's say scientific approach.
