In 20 20 the highest voter turn out in any presidential election, no matter who you voted for. We had voters in fulton county, georgia, waiting on line for nine hours to vote at a time when the pandemic was hitting the black community incredibly hard. What's the other thing that happened in 20 20 millions of americans of all races came out onto the streets to protest against police violence and racism. So it should not surprise us that in 20 21, what we saw immediately, beyond even january sixth, was the proliferation of votor suppression laws. And i think we have to keep perspective in our head lest we feel impotent.
