The Creative Impulse
I think it's what's driving all the basic impulses in our nature. It's just been built into what we are. We want to produce something that is beautiful, that is lasting and an expression of who we are. I mean, drawing a picture doesn't feel totally different from writing an article or a book or even making food for people. There's something essential that all those things have in common that answers a need. And the need is so base.
