The Battle of the River Calder

For weeks, the Normans continued their march, looking for a Ford. A man named Lesoire de Mutié spotted a place where they might be able to Ford. He and his 60 companions were well away from the main army when they found this crossing. The knights were caught out, defenseless and exposed. They took advantage of Lizois crossing so quickly that by the end of the day, they were on the north side of the air.
