How Do You Build a Site Without Having Any Links?

I see Google really, really becoming good at understanding what, what is what it's phrases about. So I have articles ranking, ranking for stuff that's not even on the page. That's kind of interesting because Google understands what the topic is. And many times I just go after, I focus much, much more on the topics than the actual key works or specific phrases.
