Volunteering at a Local Rodeo

I'm normally quite shy and being in unfamiliar environments with complete strangers puts me even more on edge. My mom thought it would be a good experience to get me out of my comfort zone but I couldn't bear to think about all the ways I would mess up interacting with people. After browsing the web we found a local rodeo affair for me to volunteer at. But boy how I was wrong. The event they needed volunteers for was cancelled the day before and they forgot to email my mom about it. They offered that I could still help out around the fairgrounds for a few hours. It was not ideal but to me it was much better than running a kiosk or something.
