Today's headlines include:

Jailed whistleblower David McBride has lodged an appeal application to Australia’s highest court, seeking to overturn charges for leaking secret defence documents. 

A former student of Western Sydney University (WSU) has been charged over a series of cyberattacks between 2021 and 2025. 

The death penalty will be abolished in Vietnam for several crimes, including embezzlement, spying and attempting to overthrow the Government.

And today’s good news: Scientists have used ancient DNA to create a realistic facial reconstruction of a woman who lived in Europe 10,500 years ago.
