I was always impressed by the fact that whereas I remember John Prescott way back when, when he said we were going to build 4.5 million new houses in 20 years,. China built 4.5m new houses in 2016 in six months. But of course, they've never worked out where they should be. It's a percentage allocation. So you tell a city, you will have 500,000 houses. You never work out whether they should be family houses or single-person houses. The demographic shift is never taken into consideration.
