The Purpose of Shell
The first challenge was there was also an existing stream of work on cracking the corporate purpose. But again, thankfully, the culture in shell is that of collaboration. It took us about 18 to 20 months to really agree on what the purpose really entails. And therefore, in the ensuing two to three years, i have to say that it required as well, for us to really embed that purp across the different performance units.
