In 1930, when Lewis became a Christian, the Church of England relaxed their teaching on the ethics of contraception. He began to ask himself: Where will this lead us if we now regard it as acceptable to suppress an aspect of our humanity? And so I think that whole question of contraception lies behind a lot of the abolition of man and therefore of that tidia strength. It looks like we have controlled nature, but in fact, from the future generation, you've been controlled.
