The Samuta Brothers and Samuel Clegg

Inventors used pneumatic tubes to push train cars up a slope and then let gravity bring them back. The idea was pioneered by the samuta brothers, who partnered with another inventor named Samuel clegg. Clegg had been exposed to murdock's ideas but didn't work for edison at the time. This kind of track would go on to become known as atmospheric railwayse.
