Is There a Problem With School Food Standards?

School food standards are rightly rigorous because for many children, the lunch is the most important meal of the day. With a vegetarian dish, a plant-based dish, you can't necessarily be guaranteed that you would have a portion of protein in there. Whereas if there is meat there, of course, that child is definitely going to get protein and other minerals - iron and other important things needed for growing brains. There is a limit to how many plant-based meals that you can have at all. I think it's about time the government created a vegetarian set of standards to make that easier for all schools.
