The Cost of Air Pollution

The Lancet puts the global annual death toll of air pollution at 9 million. In India, 349,000 stillbirths and miscarriages have been attributed annually to the effects of air pollution. The average resident of Delhi has had his or her life expectancy shortened by more than nine years from the repetitive inhalation of smog.
