At the age of 25 in 1869, she married again. This time a man named John Swainston Hammond. He was actually a British officer who had left England during the Civil War to fight for the Union. Bell Boyd imitators were a big deal in the show circuit and she kept running into people who were pretending to be her or using the stories from her memoir for their own stage productions. She just kind of eked out a living until at the Age of 25, she's only 25.
