Is There a Future for Solar, Geoengineering?
Geoengineering is an attempt to reduce global warming through meshes such as spraying aerosols into the stratosphere. The idea is that if you reflected a little of the sunlight back to space, you reduce this incoming radiation and the Earth's surface will cool a bit. But when you do that, of course, you're putting this stuff into the stratospheric air. So we need to understand at a very detailed level to make sure there aren't these negative effects - but our models right now are not good enough.
