With the royalist forces obviously not leaving the tuileri palace and paris in the hands of the parisians, it was time for some kind of provisional government to step in. The right sort of needed to guide this thing, or it'll be madame la guillotine for the lot of us. And it kind of felt like only one man had the answer to that question, and that man was the marquis de lafayette.
