The Memory of Carrie

The story actually has a funny framing device, which is Carrie as an adult many years later. So around the early 70s is returning to this small Welsh community in which she was evacuated. And she's coming here with her kids having recently been widowed. The frame struck me as very odd from the beginning. I seemed like it was introducing a layer of complexity to the theme that I wasn't quite getting right off the bat.
