The Importance of Immediate Feedback in Intubation

As a fellow, I found this to be a great teaching point for residents that just roll on service is if you're telling me the BIPAP settings are 16 over 8, 50%, 60%, you're telling us probably that we need to think about intubation very seriously. My gut and sink would be I do not want to innovate this patient but I'm worried that we're going to have to if we don't do something right away. Keep in mind that aspirations can happen with these guys and while it's pretty common many of them will require a g-tube application at some point or another. It's also what a lot of our patients end up with in the long term
