There are all these accent improvement classes. Do we really need those things, et cetera? How do we get a good accent? Benny's chapter goes on about a mnemonic, using accent,. And I have another, I'll call it a conjecture. A conjecture is a hypothesis where your evidence is not that firm. Okay, you can always say it was just a conjecture. Don't worry about it. My conjecture is this. The perfect accent is inside you. We pick up accents very quickly. We don't perform them because we feel silly. Accent is a marker of club membership. When I meet someone from London, I don't start speaking with a British accent
