Choctaw is an American Indian tribe originally in the South Eastern United States, primarily Mississippi was our our homelands. And so we had the Trail of Tears in the 1830s where about 20,000 Choctaws were removed and came across the trail over 400 miles to the new homelands; it's estimated that around 2000 died. Thankfully, our Choctaw people are very resilient and we rebuilt the tribe and the nation to what is now the Choctaw nation of Oklahoma.
