I remember with my parents it would always be like don't waste anything and eat every little last bit of the plate. And if just buying things will get you some kind of other kinds of pleasures they are more worth it because the money is no longer a scarce resource. But for me the value is that I'm spending time with you. Yes or sitting in a nice air conditioned place and we are having a good quiet conversation. That's a value I'm not spending for.
