My Soul, Where Are You?
"My soul, where are you? Do you hear me?" Jung writes in his red book. "I have shaken the dust of all the lands from my feet and I have come to you," he adds two pages later. He is humbling himself, assuming a position of reverence and knocking on the door to open a relationship with his soul. The horror of emptiness will drive him with a whip, lashing time and again into blind desire for the hollow things of the world.
