The Life and Times of Charles Schmid

While he was in prison, Charles Schmid tried multiple times to escape. In 1974, he changed his name to Paul David Ashley because he thought that might help his chances of getting rehabilitated. On March 20th, 1975, Charles got into a very intense fight with two other inmates. Now when not attempting to escape from prison, Charles was actually getting really into the world of poetry and he was actually good at it. He wrote out his, wrote, wrote his own poems all the time and he got so confident that he sent some of them to a professor at the University of Arizona. And luckily they were captured within a matter of days.
