I think Eddie Murphy was the seminal moment because I think if he was an Eddie Murphy, the show gets canceled. This is when it's like when Scientology passed on from Elrond Hubbard to David Miscavige. The fact that they had Bill Murray come in for Chevy Chase made it so this show was going to last forever.
