There's a strong genetic ideology of Cacut with 10 to 25% of cases attributable to genetic disorders. Genetic disorders associated with Cacut are frequently associated with other congenital anomalies such as developmental delay, congenital heart disease, immunodeficiencies and endocrine disruption. There's not much data on incidents and prevalence of CacUT in the NICU. So this was a retrospective multi-center cohort study of infants born before 34 weeks of gestation using the famous Pediatrics Clinical Data Warehouse. It looked at 400,000 births that took place over the last 20 years between 2020 and 2014.
