Is It Fair to Say Sometimes It Is Just Wrong or Can You Not Say That?
In order to make sense of the data around us, the brain needs a model of the causal structure of its environment. At low levels this is things like buses when you stand in front of them; light bounces off surfaces in particular ways and so on. And at higher, more abstract levels, it's governed by other minds: what people will say,. how they will respond to ideas... You have things like systems of ideology, systems of belief. Those are kind of causal models of how people will behave. So you can think of ideologies as emerging as a kind of collective way to make it able to better predict what other people will do.
