How AI Medical Devices Are Regulated

There are over 500 AI algorithms that have been already approved by the FDA to be used on patients. There's really only about a dozen of these 500 that are seeing any reasonable reimbursement signals across the whole country. And among that dozen, there's really only three or four that are getting more than 10,000 users at a cost of in hospitals. The economics of AI in medicine is one of the really open questions and one of the big challenges and barriers.
