The Importance of Free Will
Human beings are an evolutionary leap in this sense. We have the capacity to, we have to figure out how to survive. You know, a bird has how to fly coded into it. A human being does not; agriculture is not coded into anybody. Hunting even is not coded in. So, people had to discover when they went to hunt, they had to figure stuff out and use reason that are built tools that are built weapons. They literally had to do things that required cognition. And thinking requires effort and the particular effort to thinking requires is focus. It requires somebody to engage in free will. That's the basic thing that human beings do because we have to engage with our reason.
