The Desire to Put an End to Suffering One Should Develop Understanding
The desire to put an end to suffering one should develop understanding. I think it is suggesting that without a level of insight and without the willingness to cultivate insight and wisdom, then our compassionate acts won't be balanced. And in a way, there'll be social work almost, which is no bad thing because there's a need for it,. But for it to be really true compassion, it needs to be imbibed with wisdom.
