There's so many thermals around here. That creates this mystery and mystique that as an artist you want to try to capture that. You can feel the heat continually like almost in waves of steam coming across your face and shoulders, says park historian Alicia Murphy. Hell's Half-Ager is what early people would call this area after John Coulter broke off from the Lewis and Clark expedition about 1807.
