Video games tap into this primal sense of e to mastery more so than the abstract goals that we have in real life. We've basically got this part of our brain that values triumph. This is what i kind of call the triumph circuit. The person that we celebrate the most is the one who struggled and then was successful, not the person who was handed everything on a silver platter. It's because challenge followed by triumph is what we enjoy the most.
