The blue wavelength of light from screens or bulbs is what stimulates that extra cortisol surge and tanks the melatonin. So if I can mitigate that, if I can block that frequency from entering my eyes, then I go a heck of a long way towards preserving the timing in my brain. My brain still thinks it's nighttime. And so you really do need the deep orange or red ones for that better.
