Is China's Revisionism Against the Status Quo?

The Belt and Road Initiative was announced in 2013 by Xi Jinping. China has been working hard to position the branding of the BRI, not as a challenge to, but in support of it. In the United States, especially since 2015, the Bri has been held up as a kind of weaponized component of China's economic statecraft.
