The Plebe Consulship

In three 67 b c, camillus was again named dictator for the fifth and final time. He used his power to broker the deal licinius and his colleagues demanded that a plebe would be elected consul. The honor of first pleb consul historically goes to lucius sextius who had helped engineer the shut down. In addition to access to the consulship, lycinius also demanded that a cap be put on the total amount of land a man could own.
