Gontia was very deterministic, so much so that he was ostracized by the slavopiles. He said a reactioni is pointless because you can't stop this process of decay. His dream was to annex constantinople and shift its capital there from saint petersburg. It never came to fruition but it became pretty much obsession wit it.
