Effigies are stolen off lamp posts during election campaigns and placed on bonfires for urning. 'I found it particularly disturbing that parents felt ok about bringing their children to o no, a family fonde in the shadow of that,' says one local councillor. A man died when he fell from another bonfire this year after being hit by an effigy which had been set alight at Northampton's Glanmire Park. The event was organised as part of Northern Ireland’s 150th anniversary celebrations - but has become increasingly controversial over the years.
