After major positive events in people's lives they tended to return, after some months, maybe a year or so, back to whatever had been their prior kind of resting state of well being. This finding then prompted a whole kind of rebuttle ole to do on the other side. What about internal practices? What about doing psychotherapy? Or addressing drama in your life? Or what about deliberately cultivating ous qualities such as happiness, gratitude, grit, yah? And really be clear, as you and i often talk about, ideas are situated in a political context, a cultural context, and can be used in various ways.
