Inspired by the beauty and diversity of the Guatemalan ecosystems surrounding her hometown, Africa I. Flores-Anderson has been passionate about protecting the environment since she was a child. Wearing her passion as a shield, she has overcome both economic and gendered barriers to become a geoscientist.
