In the 1990s, when Hitchens is writing this book, there wasn't anything equivalent to a resurgent socialist left. And so you could have somebody like Hitchens, who was still very much calling himself a socialist and all that, who was writing for them. I think it's kind of inevitable that people see that people that hate the most of the world attacks something often and, you know, often for unfair reasons even or feel some kind of sense of attachment,you know, to the object of that attack.
