It takes a skill called inhibitory control to do that there are tests of this inhibitory control you just sit down in front of a computer and you're sort of required to make these kinds of choices. Some people are better at it than others are but it is trainable you can get better at it, one of the ways to get better was to get in shape. Anything anything that happens in your life that affects your your psychology could end up affecting you as an athlete so for example it could be just like a struggle you go through in your personal life that sort of tests you and strengthens you.
