Is There a Critical Period for Self Image?

People are afraid if they acknowledge their rage, for example, they are afraid that they'll act it out. I have a client who'se life changed, really changed. He literally just wanted to murder his completely naratistic mother. And once he was able to admit that and get comfortable with it, liked hes started hitting on all cylinders. There's a concept in biology a critical period to like with birds. If they don't hear their own song during the critical period, they'll never sing it. So my hypothesis in my master's research is that we have a critical period for self image,. kind of who we are, and how important we are; will we be treated with
