The 10 Deployments a Day of Flickr

The way that John Alspar and Paul Hammond deployed Flickr in 2009 is essentially exactly the way that we tell people to do DevOps today. The last Dora report talked about how there was like 88% of every of all the companies reporting can't deploy more often than once a week to once every six months. It's not because we didn't optimize each individual tool, but it's actually the shape of the system as a whole which is holding us back.
