In England, it doesn't matter what time of the day it is, we just call it going for a drink. The French have got different terms for the different times of the day that they drink alcohol. Hold your horses means just slow down, whoa there, slow down, don't be too fast,. It's literally a hold your horses so they don't run away. Aperitif, DJST: They've got happy hour as well in England; I've got to go, by poor Ron Paul, he's off again. You rarely hit the nail on the head when you explained one of those idoms earlier - but can you remember the last time you did?
