Foucault: Truth is not about descriptions of the world which correspond to reality. What counts as true is a matter of who gets to decide what is true and how they get to decide it, he says. In Foucault's view there are certain people in a society who are given the privilege of deciding what is true because they have validity,. legitimacy, social status and trust that is required to be believed.
